Job Description
You will be responsible for scaling platforms that serve thousands of students and teams: β’ TimeBack: An educational platform enabling Alpha School's 2-hour learning model (achieving 99th percentile test scores). β’ Incept: A content generation platform producing personalized educational materials for various learning applications deployed at Alpha School. β’ Crossover: An AI-driven hiring platform managing tens of thousands of candidates monthly, supporting global staffing for schools and enterprises.
You will take ownership of one of these platforms and dedicate the majority of your time to implementing the most complex components of the codebase with a lean team (3-5 experienced engineers, no junior developers). The architectural choices you make will dictate whether other teams can build new applications quickly, integrate seamlessly, and deliver value to students. Our approach is specification-driven: design precedes implementation, planning precedes execution. You will have high autonomy, no committees, no approval boards. You will work within a compact, cohesive team and remain accountable for what you deliver.
