Job Description
Octus is a leading global provider of credit intelligence, data, and analytics. They are seeking a Legal & Regulatory Analyst to provide comprehensive understanding of legal, regulatory, and legislative processes, contributing to excellent reporting and analysis for subscribers.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day coverage of regulatory proceedings, rulemakings, legislative developments, and litigations across a wide variety of cases, industries and jurisdictions
- Report on developments on a short time frame and in accordance with Octus’ style guide
- Prepare long-form analysis of legal, regulatory, and legislative developments
- Collaborate with Octus’ financial analysts and reporters to enhance editorial product
- Participate in teleconferences and meetings with subscribers seeking expert analysis
- Publish stories completely, on time, and correctly
- Utilize Octus’ legal editorial product, editorial workflow, and practices effectively
Skills
- Graduate with excellent academic record and 1-3 years experience as legislative or regulatory staffer or a position involving other legal or regulatory analysis
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Enjoys creative problem-solving and looks to take on new challenges
- The willingness and ability to travel occasionally for hearings and other industry events
- A working familiarity with legislative and regulatory processes
- Experience with health care regulation and policy a plus
