The Academic Resource Center is a walk-in tutoring center available to all DHS students. The ARC offers one-to-one help with Math, Science, World Language, Reading, and Writing. It is a part-time, hourly position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties of the Math and Science Tutor (Educational Support Personnel Level III) include (but is not limited to) the following: Provide tutoring in math and science reasoning in all curricular areas; Participate in recruitment and training of student tutors; Participate in Institute Days, workshops, and continuing education in subject areas; Assist in administrative tasks. Excellent communication, technological, and organizational skills and a genuine desire to work with students are required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 60 hours of college credit or a BA degree. ISBE licensure required - Para Professional License (PARA), Substitute License (SUB) or a Professional Educator License (PEL). Professional Educator License with mathematics and/or science endorsement is preferred. Experience in a school setting is preferred. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
