Calor Gas is looking to recruit a motivated and flexible Gas Service Engineer to join our field based team. As Gas Service Engineer, you be responsible for the installation / replacement and maintenance of underground pipework and associated plant at customer’s premises as well as in the public highway. The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and possess good customer service skills. You must also be able to prioritise your work and the ability to work to tight time schedules is essential. Key responsibilities will include: Working on domestic and commercial sites Install and commission gas infrastructure as instructed, ensuring that all work is undertaken to a high standard of safety and technical quality Complete site specific risk assessments and ensure maintenance of a safe working environment Accept delivery of plant and materials and check fitness for purpose prior to use Record accurately details of work undertaken using IT equipment Operating Pneumatic tooling Using mechanical excavators Identify and understand utility plans Manual handling Competent in the use of breathing apparatus Work safely at all times wearing relevant PPE. As such we would like you to: Must already hold the below or equivalent qualifications: GNO1 service laying EUSR SHEA gas safety NRSWA certificate for operative NPORS plant operators qualifications Ideally hold the below or equivalent ACS qualifications: Core domestic safety Conversion to LPG or similar VESLP1 VESLP2 EFJ1 You must hold a full valid UK driving license. Have demonstrable experience as a Gas Network Engineer, ideally from within the gas industry Be able to plan and prioritise appropriately and effectively Have an in depth knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards, including Health and Safety awareness Demonstrate flexibility Have strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise Be inquisitive, demonstrating innovative problem solving skills Demonstrate confidence in your own ability and be able to remain calm under pressure.
