Job Description

Position Purpose: This position manages the administration of benefits plans through the design, development and implementation of processes and procedures including legal compliance, vendor relations, and training and development in a customer focused, cost effective, value-based manner. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Manages daily activities of the benefits service center. β€’ Manages the administration of all legally required processes to ensure legal compliance with all federal and state mandates. β€’ Identifies best practices and implements changes to streamline the administration of all health and welfare benefit plans requiring consultation with, and/or the management of consultants, vendors, and other internal departments. β€’ Executes the implementation of new benefits programs and processes and the annual enrollment process. β€’ Manages the review of all health and welfare plan appeals and the review and resolution of all customer service and administration issues. β€’ Manages the development of a comprehensive training program for the benefits department staff and field associates. β€’ Delivers training for the field and call center. β€’ Selects, develops and motivates assigned staff. Direct Manager/Direct Reports: β€’ Typically reports to Sr Manager Benefits Administration. β€’ No direct reports. β€’ Typically negotiates in a competitive or adversarial environment. β€’ Typically faces situations that are unstructured and require original approaches. β€’ Typically considers new approaches within general policies and short-term goals when solving problems. β€’ Typically expected to provide infrequent status reports (i.e. quarterly) to management only as appropriate. Travel Requirements: β€’ Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Physical Requirements: β€’ Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. Working Conditions: β€’ Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. β€’ Typically requires intermittent periods of concentration and focused attention using one or more senses of low intensity and short duration. β€’ Under regular pressure to meet deadlines, quotas and/or must frequently deal with unpleasant issues related to people or situations. Minimum Qualifications: β€’ Must be eighteen years of age or older. β€’ Must be legally permitted to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications: β€’ Experience with Benefits Administration β€’ Experience with case management technologies used to support the customer- experience β€’ Demonstrated critical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex issues β€’ Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams β€’ Demonstrated project management skills β€’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills β€’ Proficiency in HR systems including, but not limited to Workday and understanding of data flows and integrations β€’ Customer-centric mindset Minimum Education: β€’ The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
