Job Description

    The Manager, Finance and Accounting – Skydance Animation is a key member of the Animation group, playing an integral role in month-end and financial planning, reporting and analysis of Skydance Animation. This hands-on position reports to the VP of Finance.
  • *Responsibilities**
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in to Corporate, individual project’s activity in our general ledger, including funding, and bank reconciliationsReview and present variances between actual results and forecast estimates, highlighting issues and business trends for managementAssist in preparation and presentation of monthly departmental reporting package to managementWork closely with Production Accountants on analyzing various costsReview and approve coding for employee reimbursements (e.g., travel, per diem, etc.)Support and work closely with auditors handling audit inquiries, including facilitating and organizing the necessary deliverablesTrain and develop analysts to set and successfully accomplish meaningful goals in line with the organization and department goalsDrive and participate in implementing/improving processes and controls to create efficiencies in the department.Prepare and/or approve funding requests for various projectsOversee allocations of overhead to current films in production.Be a strategic partner to executive management, content, and production leaders, and outside production partnersConsult with Corporate on hedging currencies for overseas paymentsPerform ad hoc financial analysis as needed
  • *Requirements**
  • 5-7+ years of progressive experience in an Accounting/Finance role within a studio, network, or production companyAccounting, finance, or quantitative undergraduate degree preferredExperience in financial reporting and/or operational accounting; including overseeing Chart of Account set up, AP & AR processing, Treasury and Cash flow processesKnowledge and familiarity with various operational finance systemsPragmatic, highly organized and high attention to detailExperience in financial modeling preferredAbility to work well in a small team environmentForeign currency gain/loss experience a plusExcellent communication skills and ability to lead teams effectively across business linesExperience implementing and improving business process and systemsAdvanced knowledge of various accounting software: Vista, PSL, Ease, IntacctMust have working understanding of union and guild agreementsAbility to work in a demanding, high pressure and time-sensitive environmentStrong capability to multi-task and prioritize multiple demandsThe salary range for this position in Santa Monica, California is $110,000 – $130,000. The salary offered may vary based on the candidate’s location, qualifications, experience and relevant expertise, among other factors.
