Job Description
You've mastered the difficult problems. Now apply that expertise where it matters most: equipping exceptional students to compete, advance, and succeed.
GT School serves families seeking more than strong report cards. We prepare gifted learners through authentic challenges: national and international contests, transparent results, and accomplishments students take with them. This position exists because our mathematics program succeeds only when students emerge from sessions more capable, more confident, and fully prepared for competitive environments.
This is not a standard tutoring position. You will facilitate live online workshops that challenge high-performing students, provide focused competition preparation for events such as AMC and AIME, and develop scalable resources that elevate standards across GT Anywhere and GT locations. If you enjoy converting natural ability into documented results and can communicate sophisticated concepts with precision, this role will suit you well.
If you possess a genuine track record of mathematical distinction and wish to contribute to developing the next generation of achievers, we welcome your application.
- What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and facilitate 2β4 live online domain workshops weekly that cultivate competition-grade mathematical reasoning
- Provide 1:1 or small-group coaching focused on particular contests through mock examinations, timed exercises, and thorough analysis
- Identify weaknesses quickly and construct individualized development plans aligned with each student's objectives and competition calendar
- Monitor advancement using a defined math progression framework and modify teaching approaches based on data
- Produce original, demanding problem collections and modular instructional resources that fellow educators can deploy broadly
- What You Wonβt Be Doing
- Provide undifferentiated homework assistance or grade-focused tutoring lacking clear, quantifiable results
- Conduct conventional classroom instruction limited to standard curriculum content
- Offer unstructured problem practice with no strategy, no assessment mechanism, and no competitive pathway
- Rely on borrowed or insufficiently rigorous materials that fail to meet competitive mathematics standards
Math Olympiad Coach Key Responsibilities
This position exists to ensure gifted students reliably produce measurable, competition-level mathematical achievements that GT School can highlight and families can depend on.
- Basic Requirements
- Documented elite mathematical accomplishment (e.g., Olympiad medal, AIME qualification, top national ranking, or equivalent verifiable record)
- Minimum 6 months of teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience with demonstrated outcomes

- Comprehensive knowledge of math competition structures, content areas, and preparation techniques (e.g., AMC, AIME, Olympiads)
- Effective virtual instruction presence and capability to maintain student engagement through video
- Availability for 5β10 hours per week
- Dependable internet connection and professional video equipment
- Nice-to-have Requirements
- Current, ongoing participation as a competitor, coach, or competition-oriented content developer
- Background creating reusable instructional libraries, problem collections, or curricula for use by other instructors
- Documented student achievements including qualifications, rankings, medals, or other verified competition results
