About the position
Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) is seeking a High School Math Teacher to provide instruction in one or more Math courses to students. This role involves using district-approved resources and instructional methods such as modeling, guided practice, lecturing, and cooperative learning, while ensuring lessons align with Indiana State Math Standards. The position is full-time, lasting 10 months, and reports directly to the Principal. IPS emphasizes the importance of creating a positive classroom environment and supporting students' holistic needs during their educational journey.
- Responsibilities
- Provide High School Math instruction that aligns with Indiana State Standards. ,
- Prepare daily lesson plans to execute within a positive classroom environment. ,
- Administer frequent formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress. ,
- Analyze data to make instructional adjustments to improve student learning. ,
- Participate in faculty and professional development throughout the school year. ,
- Meet course and school-wide student performance goals. ,
- Grade papers and maintain grade books. ,
- Create projects designed to enhance lectures. ,
- Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans. ,
- Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served. ,
- Develop engagement strategies. ,
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. ,
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
- Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. ,
- Licensures in High School Math Grades 5-12 Repa/Repa3.
