Job Description

Syska Hennessy Group is a global leader in consulting, engineering, and commissioning services, specializing in highly technical buildings. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer II - IV to create designs, perform calculations, and coordinate with design teams on various projects.


Responsibilities

  • Creating basic designs under the direction of senior engineers and/or senior designers
  • Performing equipment selections, and load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes
  • Representing Syska Hennessy Group and working in close contact with and effectively interacting with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants
  • Coordinating with other disciplines and working in close contact with the entire design team
  • Conducting field inspections to determine existing conditions and coordinate new work
  • Assisting the Senior Engineer in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis, and other technical reports and drawings using CAD/REVIT
  • Mastering drawing organization format and company standards
  • Taking ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of work assignments
  • Attending continuing education seminars on technical or professional enhancing topics

Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an Accredited Institution
  • Minimum of 18 months+ to 7+ years of relevant experience in the MEP field working with projects such as Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical
  • Latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT required
  • Basic understanding of proper system selection
  • Basic knowledge of applicable codes
  • FE certification required
  • Strong REVIT and MEP skills from mark-ups through the production of detailed drawings
  • Basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements
  • Knowledge of trade specific design and calculation software including energy analysis software (eQuest, Trace, etc.)
  • Experience in Mission Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare and interest in Project Management greatly preferred
