Description This role involves the preventative and corrective maintenance of Toyota Hilux vehicles, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standard. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical fitting, specifically with Toyota vehicles and be capable of working independently in remote locations. Requirements Qualifications & experience High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or trade certification in automotive mechanics is preferred. Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanical Fitter or similar role. Strong knowledge of motor vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and suspension. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment. Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues. Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors. Physical fitness and dexterity to handle physically demanding tasks. Willingness to adapt and learn new technologies and repair techniques. Valid HR/HR-B driver's license and a clean driving record (if required). Summary Key Responsibilities Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Toyota Hilux vehicles. Conduct routine servicing and inspections to ensure vehicle reliability and safety. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on vehicles. Manage stock levels and ensure spare parts are available for timely repairs. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including hot work permit requirements and confined space regulations. Maintain accurate maintenance records using Skytrust and other designated systems. Selection Criteria 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably with FIFO. Proven experience working with Toyota vehicles, specifically Toyota Hilux. Experience in auto electrical work (Auto Sparky). Certificate III or above in a relevant mechanical trade. Hot Work Permit. 4WD Operation Certification. Confined Space Entry Certification. Senior First Aid Certification. Must be available to work on a 2/2 roster in remote locations. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
