About the position
- Responsibilities
- Provide individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically, and via telephone under supervision.
- Assist in the delivery of healthcare services to patients of diverse backgrounds and ages.
- Maintain positive relationships with patients and their families.
- Ensure efficient flow of patients throughout their visit and provide support to the attending physician.
- Communicate with patients via phone to meet their needs timely and accurately.
- Document pertinent medical information in the company's data systems.
- Prepare the patient and provider for visits and ensure all questions are answered before the patient leaves.
- Complete appropriate documentation including patient registration if necessary.
- Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials through personal professional development.
- Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, respecting privacy and communication styles.
- Requirements
- High school diploma required; completion of a formal medical assistant training program preferred.
- Experience working with and maintaining confidential information in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Medical Assistant Certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Clinical knowledge and proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
