Job Description β Grooming / Migration Specialist Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Grooming / Migration Engineer to join our night shift team, specializing in telecom site-exit operations. This role focuses on executing site decommissioning projects during off-peak hours to ensure seamless service continuity. Key Responsibilities β’ Conduct site assessments and develop migration plans for site decommissioning projects β’ Perform circuit grooming activities to consolidate traffic and optimize bandwidth utilization β’ Execute planned service migrations during night maintenance windows with minimal customer impact β’ Coordinate traffic engineering solutions to redistribute network load efficiently β’ Perform pre- and post-migration testing to ensure service quality and network integrity β’ Create and maintain migration documentation, cutover procedures, and rollback plans β’ Coordinate with field operations, NOC teams, and carrier partners during migration activities Required Qualifications β’ Bachelorβs degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field β’ 5+ years of telecom network operations experience with a focus on site migrations β’ Strong understanding of fiber optics, microwave, and IP/MPLS networks β’ Proficiency with network management systems and circuit provisioning platforms β’ Knowledge of telecom circuit types (T1/E1, DS3/E3, OC-N/STM-N, Ethernet) β’ Understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, ISIS) and MPLS traffic engineering β’ Project management experience and change management process knowledge Preferred Qualifications β’ Cisco CCNP or equivalent networking certification β’ PMP or similar project management credential β’ Experience with large-scale network consolidation projects Working Conditions β’ 3rd Shift position β typically 10 PM to 6 AM schedule β’ 4x10hr days β’ Remote, U.S. based β’ Weekend work may be required during critical migration periods Compensation β’ Pay: $50β$51/hr Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $50.00 - $51.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: β’ 401(k) β’ Dental insurance β’ Health insurance β’ Vision insurance Experience: β’ telecom grooming (circuits, DACS, SONET, Tellabs, etc.): 4 years (Required) Shift availability: β’ Overnight Shift (Required) Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job
