The Role The mobile application serves as the primary point of interaction with members, allowing users to control and configure the hardware while gaining deep insights into their sleep. In this role, the Android engineer will work closely with other engineering teams (backend, firmware, machine learning), cross‑functional departments (R&D, growth, hardware), and executives (CEO, CPO, VPs). The organization is seeking an experienced Senior Android Software Engineer to join the engineering team. The ideal candidate has experience in a hyper‑growth startup and has shipped pixel‑perfect mobile apps with beautiful, polished animations. Responsibilities include conducting code reviews, ensuring code quality, and optimizing app performance to enhance the member experience. What You’ll Help Build Develop and maintain high‑quality features for the native Android application. Collaborate with design and product teams to implement custom UI components and smooth animations. Work with backend and firmware engineers to integrate with hardware and cloud services. Contribute to architectural decisions that keep the app scalable, testable, and performant. Participate in the full development lifecycle, from planning through deployment and monitoring. What You’ll Need to Succeed Experience: 4+ years of experience shipping high‑quality features for native Android apps. Technical Proficiency: Fluent in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, and MVVM/MVI architectures. Architecture: Proven ability to build scalable, testable, enterprise‑grade applications. Agility: Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on stability and quality. Bonus Points Proficiency in building custom UI components in Jetpack Compose. Experience developing software for hardware products, especially in the health or medical field.
