Job Description
We're looking for an experienced Narrative Writer to craft narrative dialogue and scenarios for immersive, virtual human learning experiences. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of human behavior and the ability to create realistic characters. This position reports to the lead narrative designer, working closely with product owners and learning experience design teams.

- Solid understanding of story and game structure and how they can integrate successfully
- Solid ability to integrate learning goals into narrative structures
- Ability to write, iterate, and revise work under tight deadlines
- Ability to brainstorm, collaborate with a team, and generate constructive feedback on narrative content
- Ability to interpret client requirements and specifications into engaging enterprise scenarios
- Ability to adapt style to match a project's tone, business requirements, and learning goals
- Ability to synthesize individual research and subject matter expert (SME) insights into communication trainings
- Ability to work and write collaboratively with a team
- In this role you will:
- Write interactive dialogue for enterprise conversational training modules
- Work with SMEs to translate their knowledge and expertise into compelling narratives
- Work with learning designers to ensure interactive narratives effectively teach key learning points
- Create personae and backstories for interactive characters
- Write compelling natural dialogue for characters within contemporary business settings
- Work collaboratively in a team of other writers, producers, and designers
- Participate in peer-review of other writers working on other training modules
- Revise writing work as a result of feedback from SMEs, team members, and stakeholders
- Research subject matter with guidance from SMEs
- Pitch ideas internally to team members and stakeholders
- Participate in production activities such as table reads and motion capture sessions for the scenarios that you have written
- Provide additional support to ongoing learning experience design projects as needed
- One or more of these is a plus:
- Experience working in Twine or other interactive narrative software
- Experience writing for games
- Understanding of educational pedagogy and learning theory
- Understanding of narrative development for interactive learning design
- Experience writing dialogue for learning and development (L&D) and other training purposes
- Experience writing conversational user interface (UI) scripts
- Experience writing professionally on at least one shipped product
- Experience working as a part of a collaborative design team
