Position: Information Systems Architect – Advanced
Location: 4444 Broad River Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29210 (100% Remote – with occasional travel to SC as needed)
Interview Process: Microsoft Teams (Camera On, ID required)
Work Hours: Flexible within 40 hours/week, standard M–F 8am–5pm, occasional on-call/weekend work
Position Description
The State of South Carolina is seeking an Information Systems Architect – Advanced with strong expertise in Health IT systems, enterprise applications, and healthcare data exchange. This position is a REBID requirement.
You will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and reviewing the work of technical personnel while ensuring smooth integration and optimization of healthcare information systems.
- Key Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, design, and evaluation of multi-tiered Health IT systems including EHRs, HIEs, and EMARs.
- Collaborate with clients, technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure system compliance and efficiency.
- Provide strategic input on emerging healthcare IT technologies.
- Oversee data integration and healthcare interoperability standards.
- Mentor and guide technical teams in delivering high-quality solutions.
- Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience with Electronic Health Records (EHRs).
- 5+ years working with NextGen EHR, PM, and EDR.
- NextGen Certification required.
- Proficiency in ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems.
- Expertise in healthcare-specific data interface standards & Health Information Exchange (HIE) technologies.
- Preferred Skills
- SQL proficiency.
- Crystal Reports, eMAR, Mirth, PACS, CIPS/Fusion, or Merge.
- HL7 standards and integration.
- Education
- Bachelor's Degree required.
