I have a working MVP of a mobile translation app.
Need help with specific backend improvements.
CURRENT STACK:
- Backend: Node.js, Express, MongoDB
- APIs: Twilio, OpenAI (Whisper + GPT-4)
- Hosting: Railway
WHAT I NEED:
1. Implement WebSockets for real-time chat
2. Optimize API latency
3. Bug fixes and improvements
MUST HAVE:
- 5+ years Node.js experience
- Experience with Twilio APIs
- WebSocket / Socket.io knowledge
- OpenAI API integration experience
PROJECT TYPE: Fixed milestones
FIRST MILESTONE (paid test, $200):
Create simple API endpoint that:
- Receives text in one language
- Calls OpenAI to translate
- Returns translated text
Timeline: 2 days
If successful, we continue with full project.
COMMUNICATION PREFERENCE:
- Written updates via Upwork messages (preferred)
- No immediate calls required
- GitHub for code review
