The Virtual CFO The Virtual CFO serves as the key Trusted Advisor for accounting and advisory clients. This position relies heavily on the financial reporting efforts of all reporting staff positions and is at the same time responsible for the managing the overall client project. The Virtual CFO is responsible for managing budgets within the CAS division and for leading a profitable functional area of the practice - leading the team, building the business and ensuring the team delivers exceptional client service.

This role also supports the business development and growth initiatives of JMT’s CAS practice and is responsible for retaining our talented people through strong leadership and coaching/mentoring relationships.

To be successful as a candidate you should possess an in-depth knowledge of our company's technical products and services, and you should be able to relate this knowledge in a way that is understandable to non-technical customers. You need to deliver excellent leadership and accounting services side-by-side with customer service.

Position Summary: The Virtual CFO is responsible for their assigned client account and the efficient delivery of accounting and financial services to assigned clients. They are accountable for maintaining client relationships, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and driving operational excellence within the client accounting services function.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Primary direct relationship with assigned clients; meets with each client quarterly at a minimum, monthly in many cases
  • Primary client ally in relationships with client’s professional team (attorney, insurance and financial experts, banks, etc.)
  • Integrated resource and performance planning, solutions implementation, and management with other business areas (marketing & sales, HR, technology)
  • Individual client budgeting & forecasting, cash flow, resource management, and other strategic planning with the client
  • System Architect for assigned new client implementations (SIAP) and management of new client implementations and ongoing support to Controller and assigned CAS team
  • Process Improvement:
  • Work with assigned client’s Controller and internal team members for project review, task assignments, and resource planning/management.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement best practices and technologies to streamline operations.
    Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; Active CPA license. Masters preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting and financial services, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
  • 5+ years managing staff in a pay-for-performance environment preferred
