Job Description

  • *Overview:**
  • The Occupational Health & Safety Training Coordinator will support the agency's mission by ensuring occupational health and safety training is thoughtfully developed, effectively delivered, and accurately documented for a diverse workforce of approximately 2,500 employees, volunteers, student interns, and contractors. **Responsibilities:**
  • Facilitate, develop, and deliver occupational health and safety training via contracts, in-person, virtual, or e-learning courses
  • Conduct research on best practices and evidence-based training to meet regulatory requirements and address identified hazards
  • Develop and implement statewide training plans
  • Maintain agency-designated instructor certifications to provide consultation, training, and course evaluation
  • Demonstrate proper operation and handling of equipment and tools per course certifications
  • Research, develop, and manage contracted training
  • Provide professional training consultation and develop, disseminate, and respond to employee training communications
  • Manage training equipment inventory, logistics, and maintenance
  • Collaborate across the department to develop and maintain agency policies, standard operating procedures, safety manuals, and guidelines involving occupational health and safety training
  • *Qualifications:**
  • Required Qualifications:
  • + Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Development, Training, Occupational Health and Safety, Natural Resources, Recreation Resource Management, Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement, Risk Management, or closely allied field+ AND+ Two (2) years of professional, full-time, paid experience in a specialized professional program that includes responsibility for all of the following: training/education, safety, logistics coordination, and consultation with a variety of stakeholders
  • Option 2: Associates degree in Education, Organizational Development, Training, Occupational Health and Safety, Natural Resources, Recreation Resource Management, Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement, Risk Management, or closely allied field
  • + AND+ Four (4) years of professional, full-time, paid experience in a specialized professional program that includes responsibility for all of the following: training/education, safety, logistics coordination, and consultation with a variety of stakeholders
  • Option 3: High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • + AND+ Six (6) years of professional, full-time, paid experience in a specialized professional program that includes responsibility for all of the following: training/education, safety, logistics coordination, and consultation with a variety of stakeholders
