Job Description
GENERAL PURPOSE:
To provide updated and fully prepared instruction to students and actively engage in retention activities and manage the classroom/lab activities.
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ā Teach courses as assigned by the Director of Online Faculty Support.
Ā Utilize a variety of supplementary resources (i.e. instructional technology, guest speakers, current articles and literature, discipline specific equipment, etc.).
Ā Actively engage in retention activities including documented communication with both students and administration regarding attendance and progress.
Ā Submit assigned grading and attendance documentation on deadline.
Ā Provide assistance for the planning, development, and maintenance of program curriculum.
Ā Work with the Director of Online Faculty Support to resolve student concerns.
Ā Grade tests, projects, and other assignments in a required timeframe.
Ā Record and maintain accurate student grade records.
Ā Is aware of the school catalog, faculty handbook, and understands all the procedures and expectations stated within it as well as policies stated therein.
Ā Participate in the evaluation of textbooks and other instructional materials.
Ā Submit final grades by established deadline.
Ā Perform start and end-of-the term procedures including preparing the course for the next term.
Ā Provide annual documentation of continued Faculty Development and Professional Development.
Ā Attend scheduled company meetings, in-service workshops and faculty meetings and incorporate learned concepts into classroom instruction.
Ā Adhere to and support school policies and procedures as referenced in the employee handbook, faculty handbook, and catalog.
Ā Perform such other duties as may be specified by the Director of Online Faculty Support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
SKILLS
Documented expertise in academic subject area as demonstrated by degrees, transcripts, licenses & certifications, and resumes. Expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills in online environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Ā Relevant work experience, certifications, Master's degree required (for General Education only), Doctorate degree preferred as per accreditation and state licensing standards.
Ā At least 18 credit hours in subject required to teach = Informatics (for General Education only)
Ā Prior post-secondary online teaching experience preferred.

Ā All official required licensures and certifications to teach content areas
Ā Faculty Development Plan
Ā Other state or accrediting agency forms as applicable
