Job Description
Covenant Wealth Advisors is a fast-growing firm that delivers integrated retirement planning. The Paraplanner will prepare financial plans for clients, assist in meeting preparations, and ensure all client processes are well-managed and executed.
Responsibilities
- Build and populate financial plans in MoneyGuidePro using client data you've gathered and verified
- Prepare meeting agendas and help Lead advisors prepare for client meetings
- Edit blog articles and publish them to our website following CWA's established content process
- Prepare and edit our weekly Retirement Brief newsletter — a Friday publication reaching 13,000+ subscribers
- Follow up with prospects who have already reached out to our firm — by phone, email, or text — to get them on the calendar with a Lead Financial Advisor (no cold calling, ever)
- Monitor client financial situations and flag gaps, risks, or opportunities for the advisory team
- Manage the full arc of client meetings: pre-meeting prep, in-meeting support, and post-meeting action items tracked to completion
- Handle new client onboarding from data collection through planning software setup
- Keep our CRM current and our client processes tight
Skills
- Bachelor's degree (we have a soft spot for Hokies and VCU Rams, but we won't hold your alma mater against you)
- Pursuing the CFP® designation or eligible to sit for the exam
- Series 65 required within 90 days of hire
- 0–2 years of experience at a financial services firm (internships count)
- Communicate clearly in writing, in conversation, and — critically — when listening
- Handle confidential financial information with the discretion it demands
- Stay steady when markets are volatile and clients have questions
- Actually want to learn this business, not just clock hours toward a credential
- Align with what drives our culture: integrity, excellence, gratitude, enjoyment of life and family, and a 'make it happen' mentality
- Exposure to financial planning, investments, or insurance is a plus — but coachability matters more than a résumé line
Benefits
- Quarterly Incentive: Revenue-sharing bonus tied to firm growth
- Financial Wellness: 401(k) plan with employer match.
- Comprehensive Health: Covenant pays up to 75% of medical, dental, and vision premiums.
- Paid Parental & Maternity Leave.
- Dependent Care Account (FSA): Set aside pre-tax dollars for childcare expenses.
- Time Off: Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy.
- Professional Development: Budget and ongoing training to keep growing in your craft.
- Hybrid Flexibility: 4 days in-office and 1 day remote.
- Community: Matching gifts program to support the causes you care about.
