About Us
TexaTran is a Houston-based project support firm providing architectural and engineering production support services. We work alongside Architects of Record and design teams to assist with construction document development, coordination, and project delivery.
We are expanding our architectural support team and seeking a licensed or experienced Architect in Houston to assist on an as-needed, project-by-project basis.
Position Overview
This role is ideal for an experienced Architect seeking flexible, part-time work. You will support commercial interior and infrastructure-related projects by reviewing drawings, providing technical guidance, and assisting with code compliance and coordination.
This is not a full-time salaried position. Workload will vary depending on project needs.
Responsibilities
Review and redline architectural drawing sets
Provide technical oversight for construction document production
Assist with building code analysis and life safety review
Coordinate with MEP consultants and project stakeholders
Participate in virtual project meetings as needed
Ensure drawings align with Houston and Texas code requirements
Provide guidance to drafting/production team
Qualifications
Licensed Architect in Texas (preferred) OR
8+ years of architectural experience in commercial projects
Strong knowledge of IBC and local Houston code requirements
Experience with interior tenant improvement projects preferred
Proficiency in Revit
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills

Compensation
Hourly rate based on experience
Competitive market rate
Flexible schedule
Remote flexibility with occasional Houston coordination if required
