Position: Part-Time Bookkeeper with Growth Potential - Remote (W2)
About Ivory Balance Books:
We're a boutique bookkeeping practice serving service-based businesses, coaches, and agencies. We're growing and need an experienced bookkeeper to join our team.
The Role:
Part-time: 10 hours/week to start, with room to grow to 20+ hours as we add clients
Remote: Work from anywhere on a flexible schedule
Compensation: Starting at $20/hour (W2 employee), paid semi-monthly
Responsibilities
- You’ll own the full bookkeeping process for 5-10 small business clients:Monthly Close
- Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts in Quick Books Online
- Categorize transactions accurately with proper documentation
- Review and resolve any unclear or flagged items
- Produce monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet) Client Communication
- Submit questions to clients through our client portal
- Communicate professionally and clearly Quality & Process
- Follow our SOPs and quality standards
- Flag issues or concerns proactively
- Suggest process improvements
- Maintain accurate records and documentation Additional Tasks (as needed)
- Year-end close and tax package preparation
- Cleanup projects for new clients
- Quarterly reviews
- Special projects as assigned Qualifications Requirements Must Have
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
- Quick Books Online expert (can work independently without training)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Comfortable with remote work and async communication (Slack, email) Preferred
- Experience with service-based businesses, coaches, or agencies
- Familiarity with Double and Gusto
- Bookkeeping certification is a plus Additional Information
