Job Description
Job Summary

This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who is comfortable managing litigation tasks independently, working across time zones, and supporting attorneys in fast-paced, sophisticated matters β and who is seeking flexible, part-time work that may expand over time.
While the role is fully remote, candidates must be based in California. We strongly prefer candidates located in Northern California, particularly the San Francisco Bay Area, due to the roleβs connection to California court procedures, local filing practices, and jurisdiction-specific requirements.

- Draft, format, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents in compliance with California court rules and local rules.
- Manage and track discovery, including formatting discovery requests and responses, organizing productions, Bates labeling, preparing and maintaining privilege/redaction logs, coordinating ESI collections and productions with vendors, and maintaining accurate discovery tracking logs.
- Coordinate and manage electronic court filings (including California state and federal courts), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain case files, pleadings, and document management systems in an organized, searchable, and audit-ready manner.
- Assist with deposition preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness binders, and coordinating logistics.
- Conduct basic legal and factual research as needed.
- Track deadlines, manage litigation calendars, and proactively flag upcoming deadlines for attorneys.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and third-party vendors.
- Qualifications
- Must be based in California (required).
- Northern California / San Francisco Bay Area strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, with substantial experience in California state and federal courts.
- Strong working knowledge of California Superior Court rules, local rules, and e-filing procedures.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously.
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic filing of pleadings through third-party vendors for California Superior courts.
- Experience working with litigation support and e-discovery platforms, including Relativity, Everlaw, CaseMap, or similar tools, is strongly preferred.
