National University holds accreditation through the Western Senior College and Universities Commission (WSCUC).Position SummaryThe Department of Engineering, Data, and Computer Sciences, in the College of Business, Engineering and Technology at the National University invites applications for part-time faculty with a specialization in Engineering Management. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of, or potential for excellence in, the following: teaching in their field, a commitment to serving the university’s diverse adult student body, and related scholarship and/or research. This position primarily works closely with the Academic Program Director and other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.Essential Job Duties:
- Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
- Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
- Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.)
- Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
- Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
- Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
- Master’s degree in the field of Engineering Management or a strongly related engineering field from a regionally accredited university with at least 10 years of industry experience in an engineering field, e.g., Project/ Program Management, Quality Engineering, Operations.
- 3+ years of experience teaching college-level courses online or onsite.
- Experience using statistical methods for graduate-level capstone course.
- Terminal degree (Ph.D.) in the field of Engineering Management or a strongly related engineering field from a regionally accredited university with at least 5 years of higher education teaching experience.
- American Society of Engineering Management's (ASEM) certification process knowledge.
- Experience teaching graduate-level Systems Engineering courses and the development of Systems Engineering courses.
- Experience teaching courses in Project Management, Quality Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Capstone Courses.
- Experience with the application of Engineering Economics in Engineering project(s).
