Job Description
Who We Are At Highstep Technologies, we believe people are the real edge. Our DNA is built on five core values — Empathy, Excellence, Ownership, Integrity, and Growth Through Community. These aren’t slogans; they guide how we treat each other and how we serve our clients. We call it a values-first culture — where how we work matters just as much as what we deliver. We show up as one team — employees, contractors, and partners — united by respect, curiosity, and follow-through. We’re proud to be the kind of place where people can contribute, learn, and grow together.
Our clients include some of the largest utility and infrastructure organizations in North America — teams who trust us to modernize the systems that keep cities running. If you find purpose in solving tough problems, bringing order to complexity, and helping organizations change for the better — you’ll fit right in. About the Role As our HR Generalist, you’ll serve as a trusted partner to leadership and team members, ensuring HR operations are compliant, thoughtful, and people-first. You’ll work closely with leadership to support hiring, onboarding, policies, and day-to-day HR needs—while keeping things lean and practical.
This role requires 6–8 hours per week (max) and offers flexibility in how those hours are structured. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee HR questions and guidance • Support recruiting coordination, onboarding, and offboarding processes • Maintain and improve HR documentation, policies, and SOPs • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and best practices • Support performance management and employee engagement initiatives • Partner with leadership on people-related planning as we grow • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems Required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or similar role • Strong working knowledge of U.S.
employment laws and HR best practices • Experience supporting small or mid-sized organizations • Highly organized, discreet, and proactive • Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight • Clear, professional communicator (written and verbal) • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) is a plus
Why Join Highstep • Be part of transformation projects that make a visible impact for major companies. • Collaborate with smart, respectful teammates who value precision and follow-through. • Grow in a culture built on learning, inclusion, and trust.
• Earn competitive pay and have access to real opportunities for career development. • Enjoy the freedom to own your work — with the support of a team that has your back. • Many of our consultants go on to lead within our PMO, OCM, and MAS practices. If you’re an HR professional who enjoys working behind the scenes to help teams thrive—and you’re looking for a flexible, part-time role—we’d love to hear from you. The Invitation At Highstep, we’re building more than a consulting firm — we’re building a community of leaders who believe how we work is the real differentiator.
If you see yourself in this description — if you lead with empathy, take pride in your work, and want to make technology feel more human — we’d love to meet you. Even if your background looks a little different, reach out. The right mindset matters as much as the resume.. Let’s build the future of Maximo together.
