- Oversee the preparation and prosecution of patent applications
- Perform all aspects of patent prosecution, including drafting and filing office action responses
- Develop and counsel business partners on strategies for protecting company innovations through patents
- Advise business partners on legal issues related to open source software and data
- Draft, review, and negotiate moderately complex matters and agreements
- Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics are particularly relevant
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
- USPTO registered patent attorney
- 5+ years of patent drafting and prosecution experience in a law firm or technology company
- Experience counseling business partners on open source software and data matters
