Job Description
We’re looking for a dependable math tutor for our son, Zach, who is in 5th grade. He’s smart, but he needs consistent support to strengthen fundamentals and build confidence. We’re aiming for 1–2 hours per week online.
Goals:
Improve understanding of current 5th grade math concepts
Build confidence and reduce frustration
Help with homework and test prep as needed
Identify gaps and create a simple improvement plan
Topics likely included (5th grade):
Fractions (add/subtract/multiply/divide, mixed numbers)
Decimals and place value
Long division and multi-digit multiplication
Word problems and multi-step reasoning
Basic geometry + measurement
Session format:
Online (Zoom/Google Meet)
Interactive teaching (not just “watch me do it”)
Light homework/practice between sessions is a plus
Ideal tutor:
Experience tutoring elementary or middle school students
Great at explaining concepts simply
Patient, encouraging, structured
Can communicate progress to parent briefly each week
To apply, include:
Your experience with 4th–6th grade tutoring
How you assess skill gaps quickly
Availability (days/times)
Your hourly rate
Any sample lesson plan or approach you typically use
Budget:
Hourly. We’re looking for consistent weekly help.
If you want, tell me your ideal weekly turnaround for the video edits (e.g., “by Sunday night after weekend games”) and whether Zach’s tutoring should be weekday evenings or weekends, and I’ll tailor both posts even tighter (and make them harder for flakes to apply to).
