- Review clinical documentation to assign and sequence diagnostic and procedural codes
- Validate APC calculations to capture diagnoses/procedures appropriately
- Abstract clinical data to meet regulatory and compliance requirements
- Maintain patient and provider confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA Guidelines
- Participate in client and Savista staff meetings and trainings
- Requirements:
- An active AHIMA credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA) or AAPC credential (COC, CCS-P, CPC)
- Two years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS code sets
- Ability to consistently code at 95% threshold for quality
- Proficient computer knowledge including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
