A reputable healthcare organization is seeking a remote Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (Oncology) to provide expert leadership in a designated area of pharmacy practice. This advanced clinical role focuses on developing care protocols, guiding medication therapy, and supporting interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes across a wide-reaching health system. Job Summary: Serves in a clinical and administrative leadership capacity, providing policy development and subject matter expertise in a designated area of specialization, which may include: Automation, Ambulatory Care/Transition of Care, Infectious Disease, Behavioral Health, Critical Care, Oncology, or Pain Management. Operates with a high level of discretion and independent judgment under minimal supervision. Responsibilities include consultative and operational support to promote positive clinical outcomes and cost-effective medication use. Utilizes advanced knowledge and experience to manage a broad scope of responsibilities with varying complexity. This is a remote, day shift position in PST hours with a salary range of $140,000-$208,000 annually. Job Requirements: Education and Experience: • Graduation from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy: Required • Completion of PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency training or equivalent clinical experience: Required • At least three years of hospital pharmacy experience: Preferred Licenses and Certifications: • Active pharmacist license in state of CA: Required (Can live anywhere in US, but must be licensed in CA) • Board Certification in specialty area (if applicable), or ability to obtain within one year of hire: Required • Registered Pharmacist (RPh): Required Key Responsibilities: • Evaluates and guides pharmaceutical care programs to enhance clinical quality. Oversees specialty-specific clinical content and contributes to formulary decisions. • Acts as a consultant to providers and patients to ensure optimal medication therapy. Serves as the primary clinical resource across disciplines including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, patients, and relevant committees. • Provides mentorship and specialized training to staff. Develops and administers clinical competency assessments. • Collaborates in creating and implementing treatment protocols, clinical guidelines, care pathways, and pharmacy-led initiatives throughout the system. • Engages in quality assurance and performance monitoring programs. Interprets clinical data to assess utilization trends and patient outcomes. • Performs additional related duties as needed.
