Job Title: Physician Assistant (PA) for Mobile Home Visit Provider
Job Type: Contract (PRN / Flexible)
Location: Houston Metro Service Area
Schedule: Weekdays + On-Call Weekends (8:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to provide in-home medical care for patients with non-emergency health concerns. This role is ideal for a clinician who values patient-centered care and enjoys delivering convenient, high-quality healthcare directly to patients in their homes.
- Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-home visits for patients requesting care for non-emergency medical issues
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations
- Assess, diagnose, and manage common acute and chronic conditions
- Prescribe medications as appropriate, including non-narcotic treatments
- Order and coordinate laboratory testing (e.g., blood work)
- Perform point-of-care testing, including:
- Influenza A & B
- COVID-19
- Strep testing
- Urinalysis (UA)
- Provide patient education and follow-up care recommendations
- Accurately document all visits in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Collaborate with supervising physicians and healthcare team as needed
- Participate in on-call coverage during agreed-upon hours
- Compensation & Engagement Terms
- Compensation is 65% of the charged visit fee
- This is a 1099 independent contractor position
- Health insurance not provided
- Work is not full-time and is based on availability and patient demand
- Providers must be reliable and committed to their scheduled on-call times
- Expected to be available and responsive during agreed-upon shifts
- Qualifications
- Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Texas
- Active DEA license (or ability to obtain)
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Experience in primary care, urgent care, or mobile/home health preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Comfortable using EMR systems
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally for home visits
