Role Overview
We are seeking a Portfolio Manager / PMO Lead to design and lead the Portfolio Management Office at SASQ. This role will oversee the planning, execution, governance, and performance tracking of multiple ventures within the SASQ ecosystem.
The ideal candidate understands how to manage complex portfolios, coordinate cross-functional teams, implement governance frameworks, and ensure ventures move from idea to scalable execution with discipline and clarity.
You will work directly with the CIO and leadership team to create operational structure across all ventures and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Strategy & Oversight
1. Design and manage the venture portfolio framework for SASQ.
2. Oversee performance across multiple ventures and strategic initiatives.
3. Align portfolio priorities with long-term corporate strategy.
4. Develop portfolio roadmaps and milestone frameworks.
5. Monitor venture progress from ideation to scale.
Program & Project Governance
6. Establish the PMO governance model across all ventures.
7. Implement structured project management methodologies.
8. Ensure execution discipline across teams and initiatives.
9. Manage cross-project dependencies and risks.
10. Create escalation frameworks for leadership decisions.
Performance Management
11. Define venture KPIs, OKRs, and performance metrics.
12. Build portfolio performance dashboards.
13. Track venture milestones and operational health.
14. Conduct regular portfolio review sessions.
15. Ensure accountability across venture leaders.
Strategic Planning
16. Translate corporate strategy into executable initiatives.
17. Support venture teams with execution frameworks.
18. Coordinate strategic initiatives across departments.
19. Identify operational gaps and propose improvements.
20. Lead annual and quarterly planning cycles.
Resource & Capacity Management
21. Allocate resources across ventures based on priorities.
22. Coordinate with finance and leadership on budget alignment.
23. Ensure efficient use of talent and capital.
24. Manage cross-venture collaboration structures.
Risk & Compliance
25. Identify portfolio-level risks and mitigation plans.
26. Establish governance and reporting standards.
27. Ensure operational compliance across initiatives.
Communication & Reporting
28. Deliver executive reports to leadership and investors.
29. Build structured reporting across ventures.
30. Ensure transparency of progress, risks, and results.

Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a strategic operator who combines portfolio thinking with execution discipline.
Preferred background:
- Experience in PMO leadership, portfolio management, or strategy execution
- Experience working with startups, venture builders, or investment portfolios
- Strong ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent strategic planning and organizational skills
- Experience with KPIs, OKRs, dashboards, and performance management
- Ability to coordinate across global remote teams
Experience in venture studios, consulting firms, investment platforms, or scale-up environments is highly valued.
