Job Description
Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research is a leading institution addressing critical issues in biomedical sciences. They are seeking a Post Baccalaureate Fellow in Image Analysis to utilize manual and AI-based techniques for analyzing 2D and 3D electron microscopy datasets to aid in disease discovery.
Responsibilities
- Apply ML/DL and conventional/manual approaches to recognize features from large-volume, high-resolution EM images of cells and tissues
- Adapt and apply existing image processing workflows to EM data to generate visual and quantitative results
- Create clear documentation including appropriately structured metadata, and resilient workflows
Skills
- Possession of Bachelor's degree in computer science, vision science, or a closely related field from an accredited college/university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or four (4) years relevant experience in lieu of degree. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency
- No work experience required with a bachelors degree
- Fluent in using Python, and knowledge of libraries for ML/DL applications (PyTorch) and computer vision (OpenCV, scikit-image etc)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Experience with ML/DL and image processing applications, with a record of open-source solutions on Github
- Knowledge of high-performance computing environment
