PostgreSQL DBA
Remote
PostgreSQL DBA JD :
Responsible for installation, configuration, performance tuning, security, high availability, and operational support of PostgreSQL databases across production and nonproduction environments.
- Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
- Manage schemas, indexes, partitioning, and PL/pgSQL routines.
- Optimize database performance, queries, and resource utilization.
- Implement backup/restore strategies (pgBackRest, WAL archiving).
- Configure and support HA/DR (Streaming Replication, Logical Replication, Patroni).
- Monitor health, performance, and capacity using pg_stat views and monitoring tools.
- Ensure database security, access control, patching, and auditing.
- Troubleshoot database issues, deadlocks, replication lag, and performance bottlenecks.
- Automate routine admin tasks (Shell/Python/Ansible).
- Support cloud-managed Postgres (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform) as required.
- Required Skills
- Strong PostgreSQL administration (4 10+ years). Strong Data Base Management System knowledge.
- Expertise in SQL, PL/pgSQL, indexing, and query tuning.
- Solid experience with replication, HA frameworks, and backups.
- Good Linux fundamentals and scripting skills.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based Postgres
