Key Responsibilities As the Principal Engineering Manager for Viva Connect Web Experiences, you will be accountable for the end‑to‑end success of the product suite. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities include: Team Leadership & Growth : Recruit, mentor, and retain a high‑performing team of frontend engineers; establish clear career paths, performance metrics, and development plans. Technical Vision & Architecture : Define and evangelize the technical roadmap, ensuring scalability, security, performance, and accessibility across all web touchpoints. Product Delivery : Own the delivery lifecycle—from concept and design hand‑off through implementation, testing, release, and iteration—while maintaining a relentless focus on user experience. Cross‑Functional Collaboration : Partner with Product Management, UX/UI Design, Data Science, and Backend Engineering to translate business goals into technical solutions. Innovation & Experimentation : Champion data‑driven decisions, A/B testing, and rapid prototyping to continuously improve product metrics and customer satisfaction. Engineering Excellence : Instill best practices for code quality, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps; promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Stakeholder Communication : Provide transparent updates to senior leadership, communicate risks, and articulate technical trade‑offs in clear, business‑focused language. Essential Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience). Experience : Minimum 6 years of hands‑on software development, with at least 3 years leading high‑performing frontend engineering teams. Technical Proficiency : Deep expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue), HTML5, CSS3, and related tooling (Webpack, Babel, ESLint). Cloud Knowledge : Proven experience building and deploying applications on Microsoft Azure, including Azure Functions, App Service, and CI/CD pipelines. Leadership Skills : Demonstrated ability to inspire, coach, and manage diverse, distributed teams in a fast‑paced, remote environment. Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts for non‑technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a technical field. Experience with GraphQL, server‑side rendering (Next.js), and performance optimization techniques.
