Job Description
At ClearSpace, we believe in reusability, in affordability driving disruption, and that no progress is real unless it is sustainable. Our company was founded in 2018 out of the realization that in-orbit servicing and space debris removal are vital services for the future of space exploration and operations. Today ClearSpace has assembled an expert engineering team and is leading the way toward sustainable space operations. From a garage in Switzerland, we now operate across UK and Europe, and are working with world-leading institutions and companies to bring our dream of a sustainable space ecosystem to life. We are looking for a Product Owner to join ClearSpace in either Luxembourg, Switzerland, or the UK who will be responsible for our software platform, ATLAS. About ATLAS ATLAS is ClearSpaceâs proprietary, companyâwide software platform. It underpins the full lifecycle of our space programmes - from mission conception and design through operations, partner coordination, and postâmission reporting. ATLAS is not an offâtheâshelf tool or a reporting dashboard. It is the operational backbone of how ClearSpace runs missions. Every engineer, mission controller, customer interaction, and partner interface flows through it. Getting it right - the architecture, the UX, the reliability, the intelligence - is directly tied to our ability to scale and to win. The Role We are looking for a Product Owner to take full ownership of ATLAS. This is a handsâon role for someone who combines product leadership with deep technical fluency. You will be responsible for defining what ATLAS is, how it evolves, and ensuring it delivers real value to the people who depend on it every day - engineers, mission planners, customers, and agency partners. This role reports directly to the ClearSpace CEO. You will start as a solo lead and, over time, build a small, highâimpact product team. Key Responsibilities Product Ownership & Strategy Define and own the product vision, roadmap, and priorities for ATLAS in close collaboration with the CEO and engineering leadership. Translate operational needs into clear, precise, and testable product requirements. Run structured discovery with internal users and external stakeholders to ensure ATLAS is grounded in real mission and operational needs. Make and defend prioritisation decisions in a complex, missionâcritical environment. UX & Design Own the user experience endâtoâend, including workflows, information architecture, and interaction patterns. Balance the needs of highly technical users with the clarity required by nonâtechnical stakeholders. Set design standards and continuously raise the quality bar for usability and clarity. AIâNative & Technical Delivery Use AIâassisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cowork) as a core part of daily development and operational workflows. Design and embed AIâdriven automation and agent workflows within ATLAS to streamline routine tasks and support decisionâmaking. Own and shape the endâtoâend technical architecture of ATLAS, spanning frontend, backend, APIs, data models, and infrastructure. Ensure the platform is reliable, secure, and operable across ClearSpaceâs multiâentity environment. Stakeholder & Partner Engagement Act as the product face of ATLAS in discussions with customers and partners, including space agencies. Translate external feedback into actionable product improvements without losing engineering focus. Support commercial discussions by clearly articulating ATLASâs capabilities and roadmap. Team Building Define, hire, and lead a small product team as ATLAS scales. Establish high standards, fast iteration cycles, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Must Have Proven experience owning and delivering complex, missionâcritical or enterprise software products. Strong fullâstack systems understanding, with the ability to reason across UX, backend, APIs, data, and infrastructure. Handsâon experience using AIâassisted or AIânative development approaches in real products. Strong UX instincts and experience making and defending design decisions. Ability to operate effectively in a lean environment with significant autonomy. Nice to Have Experience in the space sector, aerospace, or other safetyâcritical domains. Exposure to satellite operations, ground segment systems, or mission lifecycle tooling. Experience working with or for space agencies or major institutional partners. Familiarity with multiâcountry or multiâentity organisational environments. Information about our data processing is set out in our candidate data privacy notice.
