About the Role
We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support our Owner’s Representative services, with a primary focus on project scheduling and schedule oversight for utility-scale renewable energy projects.
This role is responsible for developing, reviewing, integrating, and managing project schedules across development and construction phases, and for independently evaluating EPC and contractor schedules to support informed Owner decision-making.
This is an Owner-side scheduling role, not a contractor scheduler position.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Scheduling & Controls (Owner’s Rep):
- Develop and maintain Owner Level 1 and Level 2 project schedules
- Review, validate, and integrate EPC and contractor Level 3 schedules
- Evaluate baseline schedules for logic, sequencing, durations, and contractual compliance
- Perform critical path, float, and schedule risk analysis
- Identify schedule impacts related to engineering, procurement, permitting, construction, commissioning, and energization
- Support schedule change evaluation and recovery planning
- Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track progress against baseline and forecast dates
- Prepare schedule narratives, milestone reports, and executive summaries
- Support monthly Owner reporting and lender-facing schedule inputs
- Communicate schedule risks clearly and objectively to stakeholders
- Coordination & Stakeholder Support:
- Participate in schedule review meetings with EPCs, developers, and project teams
- Provide independent, fact-based schedule assessments
- Support commissioning and grid interconnection sequencing outside EPC scope
- Contribute to internal scheduling standards and best practices
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in project scheduling or project controls
- Strong experience with Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6
- Solid understanding of:
- Critical Path Method (CPM)
- Schedule baselining and updates
- Float and logic analysis
- Milestone-driven schedules
- Experience reviewing and working with EPC contractor schedules
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)
- Utility-scale wind, solar, or BESS project experience
- Owner’s Rep, developer, or lender advisory experience
- Experience supporting financing or investment decision schedules
- Familiarity with commissioning, energization, and interconnection sequencing
- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
