Job Description
About the Work
We're building a responsive web platform for older adults aging at home. Our users span a wide range of devices — older tablets, smartphones, laptops — so cross-browser and cross-platform quality isn't a nice-to-have. It's the whole job.
We need a sharp QA professional to own quality assurance on an ongoing part-time basis. You'll work directly with the product team, report in ClickUp, and be someone we trust to catch what others miss.
What You'll Be Doing
Testing a responsive web app across real and simulated devices and screen sizes. Building and maintaining an automation suite that gives us fast, reliable coverage on every release. Filing clear, reproducible bug reports in ClickUp — no hand-holding required. Communicating proactively when something looks off, not just when asked.
What We're Looking For
You have a preferred automation stack — Playwright, Cypress, Selenium — and a clear reason why it's the right tool for a responsive app. You've done serious cross-browser and cross-platform validation, not just desktop Chrome. You're comfortable using free and low-code QA tools in a lean startup environment — you don't need an enterprise budget to do great work. Your bug reports are clear enough that a developer can reproduce the issue without a single follow-up question. You're available and communicative during at least 2 hours of overlap during Los Angeles PST between 8AM and 1PM Pacific, Monday through Friday. And you get that our users are older adults — that context shapes how you think about severity, accessibility, and what "broken" actually means for this audience.
Logistics
20 hours per week to start. Hourly contract. Ongoing for the right person.
Application Question
What automation stack would you use for a responsive web app serving older adults across a wide range of devices, and how do you typically structure your reporting workflow?
