Salas O’Brien is an employee-owned engineering and professional services firm focused on achieving impact for their clients and the world. The QA/QC Technician will work closely with the Impact Cx Team to verify equipment and system quality, assisting in the commissioning process and contributing to the successful delivery of fully commissioned buildings. Responsibilities Support the QA/QC Lead in coordinating with general contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, and the owner/client through verbal and written communication Assist in reviewing project plans, scopes, specifications, and schedules under guidance Help organize and maintain QA/QC documentation, including procedures, test results, and testing records Assist with tracking submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs for verification and implementation Observe and document QA/QC tests and commissioning activities as directed by the QA/QC Lead Coordinate updates on commissioning issues, tracking progress, and supporting closeout documentation Prepare and distribute daily/weekly status updates to the on-site management team regarding QA/QC activities Ensure proper filing and accuracy of project records before submission to the client Follow instructions to apply best practices and maintain compliance with quality procedures and client standards Stay current with the latest revisions of quality procedures and commissioning standards provided by the QA/QC Lead Comply with all safety rules, procedures, and guidelines as instructed Adhere to company policies and client requirements at all times Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or trade school certifications in HVAC, Electrical, etc Proficient with bolthires Office suite, for example, Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc Strong organizational skills and ability to support multiple tasks efficiently Willingness to learn industry standards and QA/QC processes Good written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and coordination Ability to work collaboratively and respond professionally in sensitive situations Basic analytical skills and eagerness to learn problem-solving techniques Familiarity with construction drawings is helpful (training will be provided) Interest in learning about data center equipment and systems (e.g., MV Gear, Generators, bolthires, HVAC) Ability to follow safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements (training provided) Comfortable observing and documenting equipment startup and commissioning activities under supervision Ability to bend and lift 30lbs Ability to climb stairs/ladders Knowledge of construction management systems, for example, BIM 360 or Procore is a plus OSHA 10-hour Construction safety is not required, but will need to be completed in set time frame NFPE-70E is not required, but will need to be completed in set time frame Benefits 401(k) with employer match Health, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents Employer-paid life and AD&D insurance Flexible spending accounts Access to Salas O’Brien Academy for training and professional development Licensing insurance Company Overview Salas O'Brien is a national leading Facilities Planning, Commissioning, Construction Management and Mechanical, Electrical.
