Responsible for the execution of Stock Yards local sales programs supporting US Foods DC's in a specified regions. Manage all aspects of local SY sales to meet or exceed company goals for Stock Yards sales and profitability. Plan and direct the implementation of sales strategies and tactics aimed at sustained sales and margin growth. Responsible for managing the Business Development Managers team within the regions.

The Regional Sales Manager has been segmented as a Remote Region-based role, which means that one must travel to multiple sites as needed and live within the assigned Region, this assigned region for this opening is within our Northeast and Central Region.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leadership: Direct reporting responsibility for the Business Development Managers within the regions. Utilize sales leadership & Merchandising teams to push initiatives and strategies into the field.

2. Sales Administration: Guide Business Development Managers team in the development of strategies and initiatives to achieve company goals and performance targets. Identify opportunities to increase sales and margins in existing accounts at US foods DCs. Direct and guide sales team toward areas of increased profitability. Troubleshoot for loss of sales by region, area and specific customer. Participate in General Sales Meetings. Track results in all areas of sales, costs and margins. Work with Region & Area leadership and Marketing to develop sales contests and promotions to promote create new business opportunities. Conduct Area Stock Yards quarterly/semi-annual Business Review with Area Leadership.

3. Staffing: Recruit, hire and supervise Stock Yards Business Development Managers Ensure that the sales organization across the Stock Yards network is appropriately staffed and managed. Coach direct reports to improve their performance and business effectiveness. Ensure development of strong pipeline of sales staff to fill Business Development Manager roles.

4. Strategy: Participate in development of annual sales plan and programs for each Stock Yards location. Track, monitor and manage annual sales plan attainment in support of organizational strategy and objectives. Participate in long-range planning, introduce new programs/strategies and advise on regulatory actions.

5. Policy: Direct implementation and execution of policies and practices. Responsible for ensuring compliance of all government related regulations and programs, company policies, and industry and field standards.

6. Marketing: Assist marketing with coordination of promotional activities supporting growth of Stock Yards product lines. Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives. Coordinate liaison between sales department and other sales support units. Represent the Company in community and industry settings for the purpose of promoting good corporate relations. Coordinate seasonal product marketing.

7. Merchandising: Collaborate with Merchandising team on sales growth initiatives. Assist in selection of new products to promote and pursue. Evaluate and compare competitive products to ensure appropriate product offerings.

8. Expense Control: Consult with Department Heads to ensure budget maintenance. Analyze and control expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements. Establish policies and procedures to reduce department's operating costs.

External: Customers and vendors

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related field or equivalent experience required. Advanced degree preferred.

Related Experience: A minimum of 8 years in Center of the Plate, with at least five years in supervisory role. Ideal candidate has experience that includes collaboration in a functional matrixed environment and virtual leadership across multiple sites. Overnight travel may be required to participate in trainings, meetings, or other company events.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation ability. Strong customer orientation. High energy, creativity, leadership and motivational skills. Extensive knowledge of the foodservice industry and profit & loss management, planning and analysis. Should be familiar with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Travel: 50%

This role will also receive an annual incentive plan bonus up to 30% of base salary.

    Grade: 17Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between$115,000 - $215,000
