About the position
The Registered Nurse-First Assist (RNFA) plays a critical role in the surgical team by assisting the surgeon during operations to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes. This part-time position involves practicing peri-operative nursing, which includes conducting assessments before surgery and evaluating care post-operation. The RNFA collaborates closely with the surgical team and is responsible for independent nursing actions during the intra-operative phase.
- Responsibilities
- Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures to ensure patient safety. ,
- Conduct peri-operative assessments and post-operative evaluations of care. ,
- Collaborate with the surgical team to optimize surgical outcomes. ,
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols during operations.
- Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school accepted for licensure in the state of practice. ,
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice is required. ,
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ,
- First Assist experience is preferred. ,
- Certification of First Assist is preferred.
