About the position

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a leading provider of healthcare services. The role involves understanding and applying aseptic techniques, maintaining a sterile field, assisting in surgical procedures, and prepping patients for surgery. The RN will assess patients prior to surgery, ensure they understand the procedure, and participate in a 'timeout' with the surgical team. The position requires teamwork, adaptability, and accountability for delivering quality nursing care while promoting a positive image of nursing.

Responsibilities
• Understand and apply aseptic technique to maintain a sterile field.

• Assist in surgical procedures and prep patients for surgery.
,
• Assess patients prior to surgery and ensure understanding of the procedure.

• Conduct a 'timeout' with the surgical team before procedures.
,
• Demonstrate teamwork and serve as a resource to the Surgical Services team.

• Deliver quality nursing care services and promote a positive image of nursing.

Requirements
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required; BSN preferred.

• 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in an Operating Room/OR/Surgical Services setting is required.

• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License required.

• Current BLS and ACLS Certification are required.
,
• CNOR certification is preferred.
