Job Description
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The ABK Group, LLC is a HealthTech company that provides a platform for healthcare organizations to manage their legacy data systems. They are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to optimize and architect their cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with healthcare industry standards.
- Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of current AWS infrastructure and security posture
- Design and implement secure, HIPAA-aligned cloud architecture solutions
- Establish infrastructure-as-code practices and documentation standards
- Develop and maintain security controls aligned with HITRUST and SOC 2 expectations
- Provide technical direction on AWS best practices to engineering teams
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging for compliance and operational visibility
- Collaborate with Information Security on vulnerability management and remediation
- Design disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
- Optimize cloud costs while maintaining security and performance
- Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience supporting production environments
- Strong understanding of AWS security services (IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, KMS, etc.)
- Experience designing or supporting HIPAA-compliant cloud architectures
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform and/or CloudFormation)
- Strong networking fundamentals (VPCs, subnets, security groups, routing)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
- AWS Certified Security Specialty
- Experience with healthcare IT systems and/or regulated SaaS environments
- Familiarity with SOC 2 and HITRUST compliance frameworks
- Experience with containerization (ECS, EKS, Docker)
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic)
- Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting skills
