Job Description
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Accion Labs is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer with expertise in designing and supporting secure cloud environments within Microsoft Azure Government. The role involves building Azure Landing Zones, supporting application migrations, and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions primarily using Terraform. Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain Azure Gov Cloud Landing Zones aligned with enterprise architecture, compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, DoD, etc.), and best practices • Lead and execute application migration initiatives, including assessment, planning, and deployment across Azure Gov Cloud environments • Develop, test, and deploy Terraform modules and pipelines to support IaC-based provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of cloud resources • Implement secure, scalable architectures including network segmentation, identity and access, policy enforcement, and monitoring • Collaborate with security, DevOps, and application teams to define and enforce operational standards and guardrails • Troubleshoot and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and cost efficiency • Maintain documentation for architecture diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures • Provide subject matter expertise on Azure Gov Cloud services, capabilities, and constraints Skills • 3–7+ years of experience engineering solutions in Azure; at least 2+ years with Azure Cloud • Demonstrated experience architecting and deploying Azure Landing Zones, including management groups, policies, RBAC, networking, and monitoring • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, including module development, state management, CI/CD integration, and version control (Git) • Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code, cloud automation practices, and DevOps methodologies • Experience migrating on-prem or multi-cloud applications to Azure (IaaS, PaaS, containers preferred) • Solid knowledge of Azure networking (VNETs, NSGs/ASGs, firewalls, VPN/ExpressRoute), identity (Azure AD), and security controls • Familiarity with compliance requirements for government environments (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, IL2–IL6) • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field • Azure certifications: AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700, or AZ-500 • Experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps pipelines, or similar CI/CD tools • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) • Background working with government agencies or regulated industries Benefits • Accion covering 65% of the medical, dental, and Vision Premiums for employees, their spouses, and dependent children enrolling in the Accion-provided plans.
