We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director & Counsel to join our General Counsel's Organization (GCO) team, providing legal support to our U.S. Consumer Products and Services (CPS) business with a focus on consumer credit cards. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and guidance to business partners responsible for consumer lending, cobrand, and premium cards on a range of issues, including card marketing, card member communications, product development, and reward programs
- Develop regulatory subject matter expertise across U.S. consumer finance regulations, with a specific emphasis on the Truth in Lending Act and UDAAP
- Participate as a member of a team of experienced lawyers and legal leaders, demonstrating thought leadership for practice group and enterprise-wide initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and J.D.
- Admitted to the New York Bar or eligibility to do so
- 3+ years of relevant legal experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to generate creative and innovative solutions to client issues
- Ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations in a practical, business-oriented manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with others to drive results
- Experience applying UDAAP and Truth in Lending Act is a plus
