They are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Professional with a strong background in auditing, consulting, and compliance within the public sector to support innovative and defense-focused organizations. The role involves conducting audits, providing consulting services, and leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency and compliance reporting.
- Responsibilities
- Tag team with existing Service Delivery team and provide transition, support and account maintenance support for our growing list of customers
- Assigned as a Deputy Service Delivery Manager - work collaboratively with the service delivery team across multiple accounts
- Conduct cybersecurity gap assessments, readiness reviews, and audits aligned with NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, and CMMC requirements
- Provide consulting and advisory services for clients in the defense and public sectors
- Support development and maintenance of system security documentation (SSP, POA&M, SARs, risk assessments, audit reports, etc.)
- Translate complex cybersecurity requirements into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and executive stakeholders
- Use AI-assisted analysis and automation tools to streamline compliance, documentation, and reporting processes
- Engage in cross-framework learning and advisory (e.g., FDA Cyber Regulations, SEC Cyber Disclosure, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, etc.)
- Present findings and recommendations through professional reports and executive briefings
- Collaborate with internal experts and leadership on continuous improvement initiatives and framework harmonization projects
- Skills
- 7–10+ years of experience in cybersecurity auditing, consulting, or compliance in the public or defense sector
- Demonstrated expertise with one or more of the following frameworks: NIST SP 800-171 / CMMC, FedRAMP, or equivalent frameworks, ISO 27001 or PCI
- Strong technical writing and audit reporting experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging technical and executive audiences alike
- Familiarity with AI or automation tools for cybersecurity and compliance workflows
- Ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting DoD, Aerospace firms, or regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, aerospace, energy)
- Working knowledge of DoD cyber regs, FDA cybersecurity regulations, SEC cyber risk disclosure rules
- Technical competence for airgapped or cloud based systems
