Milliman is undertaking a major business transformation program to modernize various systems, and they are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to ensure the integrity and quality of data during this transition. The role involves collaborating with teams to support data mapping, migration, validation, and integration activities. Responsibilities β€’ Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements for prioritized data domains, ensuring a clear understanding of business needs. β€’ Profile data and analyze source systems and data structures to assess content, quality, and structure, supporting accurate mapping and migration processes of master data and data hub models. β€’ Develop comprehensive data mapping documents, including source-to-target specifications and transformation logic. β€’ Work with Master Data Management (MDM) and integration teams to validate mappings and ensure alignment with enterprise data models. β€’ Support workshops and working sessions to refine business rules, data definitions, and domain onboarding plans. β€’ Assist in identifying data quality issues and contribute to metadata and lineage documentation. β€’ Create and maintain data catalogs to ensure consistent documentation, easy discovery, and effective management of enterprise data assets. β€’ Coordinate with platform subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure mappings are compatible with MDM, data hub, and integration platform configurations. β€’ Track mapping progress, dependencies, and issues across teams and tools, providing timely updates and resolving blockers. β€’ Collaborate with business stakeholders and project teams to understand data requirements for HR, Finance, Legal, and Professional Services functions. β€’ Analyze and document existing data sources, structures, and business rules within legacy systems. β€’ Develop data mapping specifications to ensure accurate migration to new systems. β€’ Support the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data, including profiling, cleansing, and validating migrated data. β€’ Perform data quality assessments and implement data validation processes to ensure completeness and accuracy. β€’ Assist in designing and testing data integrations between new enterprise platforms and other business applications. β€’ Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, flows, and transformation rules. β€’ Identify and resolve data-related issues during migration and post-implementation. β€’ Provide regular updates and insights to project leaders and stakeholders regarding data migration progress and risks. β€’ Support ongoing data governance and quality initiatives as new systems are adopted. Skills β€’ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field. β€’ Minimum 5 years of experience in a data analyst or similar data-focused role, preferably supporting large-scale system implementations or migrations. β€’ Previous experience with data analysis, data profiling, data mapping, and ETL processes. β€’ Hands-on experience with SQL, Python and working with relational databases. β€’ Previous experience with data migration and data integration tools. β€’ Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and translate business requirements into technical specifications. β€’ Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality. β€’ Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams. β€’ Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced project environment. β€’ Experience with HRIS, Finance, Legal, or Professional Services Automation systems. β€’ Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). β€’ Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices. β€’ Experience in the insurance, risk management, or financial services sectors. β€’ Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data privacy and security.
