Job Description
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest agencies in the state, responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of all North Carolinians. They are seeking a Data Specialist to support the Early Education Branch by researching and gathering data, developing reports, and providing technical assistance on various systems related to early childhood education.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the needs of the Early Education Branch
- Researching and gathering data to inform presentations, reports
- Developing BK teacher licensure reports
- Problem-solving WORKS data system issues
- Reviewing and providing technical assistance on NC Pre-K KIDS and APP systems
- Conducting research using various databases (BK Licensure HRMS, NC Pre-K Plan System (Plan, KIDS, APP) and others as applicable to the work expected of the EEB
- Collaborating with the Data Coordinator on certain or assigned tasks as required
Skills
- Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in HR, budgeting, research or administrative management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge and experience analyzing and interpreting data to inform decisions as they relate to the effectiveness and proficiency of policies, procedures and practices
- Possess analytical skills such as perception, evaluation, assessment and judgment to identify and address existing or potential problems, make recommendations and resolve more complex issues in collaboration with senior management to develop and initiate innovations and solutions
- Experience in researching, analyzing and gathering data to assist with preparing presentations and written reports for training, meetings and other events or requests
- Experience in using varied methods of technology such as webinars, phone conferences, PowerPoint presentations as well as diagrams/charts, written documents and handouts
- Technical experience, knowledge and understanding of applicable business information systems, testing methodologies, training, business system analysis, and/or other related early childhood systems
