Comprehensive health benefits plans to support your overall wellbeing Flexible leave options that empower you to recharge and support personal commitments Opportunities for mentorship and involvement in Canva's long-term AI strategy Hybrid work environment offering flexibility to work from home or the office What to Expect (Job Responsibilities) Lead high-impact research initiatives focused on foundational models within Canva's AI domains Design and execute experiments to validate hypotheses and optimize model performance Translate theoretical research into robust, production-ready implementations Develop novel model architectures and training methodologies to advance state-of-the-art outcomes Collaborate with ML Engineers to scale models and integrate them into Canva's product ecosystem What is Required (Qualifications) Deep expertise in machine learning and foundational model development, particularly in LLMs and generative AI Experience in developing and deploying generative AI models for video synthesis and audio generation Strong publication record or evidence of research impact in industry Proven experience in owning research strategy and execution from problem formulation to deployment Proficiency in evaluating complex theoretical ideas rigorously How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) Experience mentoring others within a research community Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in AI and machine learning Strong collaborative mindset, working well with engineers and product teams Ability to balance long-term vision with practical delivery in research projects #Technology #MachineLearning #AIResearch #
