Solo U.S. family-law attorney (Idaho-based, WA-admitted) seeks a Philippines-based lawyer / paralegal / legal assistant for a long-term, back-office role. Work is focused on U.S. family law (divorce, custody, child protection, domestic violence) and adjacent civil matters. This is a non–client-facing, non-advisory role: • You will draft and research, • I will advise clients, sign pleadings, and appear in court. Scope of Work • Draft first-pass versions of: o Petitions, responses, declarations/affidavits o Motions, short briefs, proposed orders o Discovery requests and summaries (interrogatories, RFPs, etc.) • Prepare hearing/trial prep materials: o Fact chronologies, issue lists, exhibit indexes, outlines • Conduct targeted legal research with clear, structured written memos.
• Assist with document management: o PDF organization, labeling, basic formatting, and template-based work. Requirements • Based in the Philippines. • Law degree or substantial paralegal / litigation experience. • Strong written English, suitable for U.S. legal pleadings and client-facing documents (after my review). • Prior litigation drafting experience required; family-law experience preferred. • Technically competent with cloud tools; familiarity with Clio or similar practice-management software is a plus.
• Able to follow checklists, SOPs, and detailed written instructions. • Willing to work as a supervised legal assistant (no independent legal advice, no court appearances). • Comfortable with NDA, confidentiality terms, and IP assignment for work product. Engagement Details • Initial engagement: part-time (approx. 10–20 hours/week), with potential scale-up. • Asynchronous work is fine; need at least 1–2 hours overlap with U.S. Pacific mornings for coordination. • This is an invite-only posting intended to identify 1–2 candidates for a live video meeting to discuss fit, workflows, and expectations.
