They are seeking a Level 2 Energy Service Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on various energy systems while mentoring Level 1 technicians. Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on solar PV systems, BESS, EV charging stations, and SCADA monitoring platforms Diagnose and resolve inverter alarms, ground faults, arc faults, and communication interruptions independently Conduct intermediate troubleshooting of inverters, battery management systems (BMS), and EV chargers Perform firmware updates, insulation resistance testing (megger), and data logging as required Execute assigned work scopes independently, maintaining quality and efficiency standards Conduct voltage and current testing, string testing (Voc/Isc), and insulation resistance testing Conduct thermal scanning (IR imaging) and flag potential issues for corrective action Use multimeters, clamp meters, IV curve tracers, and thermal imaging cameras to diagnose anomalies Assist with acceptance, performance, and recommissioning tests following maintenance or outages Annotate plan sets and schematics to reflect as-found and as-left conditions Verify system communication, data reporting accuracy, and performance indicators via remote monitoring platforms Troubleshoot and repair system data and communication protocol issues (RS-485, Modbus, TCP/IP) Assist Level 3 technicians in advanced monitoring and communication fault resolution Collect information for and submit warranty claims as applicable Set and execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures independently and accurately Maintain full compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and NEC standards on every job Lead and/or participate in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) prior to work execution Conduct regular compliance inspections and safety equipment audits Lead regular safety meetings and toolbox talks Deliver site-specific safety orientations for visiting crew members and contractors Determine and set ESS-specific LOTO for multi-source systems Complete thorough service reports detailing work performed, findings, and deficiencies Document system conditions accurately to support asset management and maintenance planning Provide clear and professional updates to field supervisors and site contacts Begin mentoring Level 1 Technicians in electrical testing, troubleshooting, and safety protocols Provide feedback on quality and content of training programs to leadership Skills 1–3 years of experience in electrical, solar PV, or related technical fields Demonstrated troubleshooting capability for electrical systems OSHA 30 (or completion within 30 days of hire) NFPA 70E (current or in progress) Valid Level 1 completion from an accredited or internal program Proficiency with multimeters, clamp meters, IV curve tracers, and thermal imaging cameras Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and lift up to 75 lbs Valid driver's license with a clean driving record NABCEP PV Associate Certification (preferred or actively in progress) Experience with BESS and/or SCADA monitoring platforms NFPA 70E, Fall Protection, and Aerial Lift certifications Trade school certification, technical degree, or relevant coursework Experience with battery energy storage system (BESS) diagnostics Knowledge of utility interconnection requirements and electrical permitting Benefits Employer-sponsored certification reimbursement including NABCEP, OSHA, and NFPA 70E Company Overview Servist Energy is a commercial and utility-scale solar O&M firm built on precision, responsiveness, and integrity.
